Fir, Balsam

Fir is a simple aromatic and highly prized. It is stimulating, and can be used to bring alertness to the mind and has been researched for its ability to kill airborne germs and bacteria.

Fir is of course the classic aroma of Christmas!

This is a bright and uplifting essential oil, yet, as with most evergreen needle oils, also grounding. Fir can be used diluted and applied typically to the adrenal areas or the body; in general it may help fatigue.

Fir oil is also indicated as an analgesic, and can be diluted in carrier oil for massage in cases of arthritis, muscular aches and pains, and rheumatism.

Directions:

To create a wonderful 'forest' aroma a few drops of Fir essential oil can be blended with 1 or 2 other evergreen oils such as Pine, Spruce and Cedarwood.  It also blends well with Blue Chamomile, Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, and Myrtle essential oils.

Method of Extraction: The oil is steam distilled from the needles of the Balsam Fir tree.
